Krafton’s CEO of India provides an update on BGMI ban

Krafton, the South Korean gaming developer has been one of the lead investors for several homegrown companies such as Loco, Pratilipi to name a few. It had also announce BGMI tournaments worth 6 Crores INR for the ongoing year as well as providing Indian players the chance to perform at the international tournaments of PUBG Mobile.
This promising eSports scenario, however, might face a downfall now that the game has been banned in the country by the government. Apparently, the game was banned under the same law on which PUBG Mobile and Free Fire was banned. The sudden ban certainly left fans in the dark but Sean Hyunil Sohn has now provided a clear statement to the fans-
"Dear Patron of BGMI, we are committed to the Indian market and are positive about the opportunities in the country. At KRAFTON inc, the security and privacy of our user data is of utmost importance to us. We have always been compliant with all the rules and regulations including data protection laws and will continue abiding by them."

He further added-
"There may be questions in your minds regarding the country's most loved game-BGMI. In line with this, we have been working hard to communicate our sincerity with the concerned authorities and resolve the issues. We kindly request you to wait to hear from us. We will keep you informed about the further updates."
The CEO for Indian division of Krafton expressed his gratitude to the Indian fans for showing an overwhelming love and appreciation towards BGMI. He has further assured them to keep patience as the members of Krafton are working to resolve the matter.
This official statement certainly came as a respite to several BGMI fans who were worried about the fate of the game that recently completed its one year anniversary. Apart from that, several eSports professionals such as Mortal, Ghatak and others took to social media to express their concerns on the matter.

Now that an official statement has been provided, fans have received a silver ray of hope in this matter. If the talks are indeed successful, it can be assumed that the battle-royale game will soon make a comeback.
