Call of duty to Skip New Release in 2023, According to Rumors
Activision reportedly has different plans for the COD franchise in 2023
Call of Duty could change a lot in 2023. Call of Duty has consistently released a new game in the series every year for 19 years. Game quality and features can come at a cost sometimes, but Activision puts a game out there no matter what.
It continues to lead the industry in game sales, generating billions of dollars each year. Fueled by reports that COD will skip 2023 to give Treyarch more time to work on its next game, rumors now point to what Activision will do to fill the gap.

Call of Duty to Have Surprising Plans for 2023
Recently, Call of Duty was reported to be to mark its 20th anniversary in the series, with Modern Warfare II offering both remastered maps from across the franchise, as well as paid DLC for the campaign for the first time.
This information was recently confirmed by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, who confirmed that he had also heard rumors about campaign DLC.

Call of Duty campaigns tend to be self-contained, with stories loosely continuing through cutscenes at the beginning of the season, but you usually have to wait years to know what’s next for that particular story.
With that said, it looks like Infinity Ward plans to continue the Task Force 141 story with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 DLC which will be released in 2023.
At this time, this is a rumor and is from reliable sources, but please note that the plans are subject to change. It’s also possible Activision changes plans and decides to release a remastered version of the game, or forces Treyarch to release the game in 2023. Only time will tell what will happen, but the potential for campaign Call of Duty DLC is exciting.
