Infinity Ward has released a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 on 30 January. They are fixing some existing bugs and crashing issues in the multiplayer, battle royale, and DMZ game modes. It’s a small 300 MB patch. The major update for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 will arrive on 15 February, along with season 2.

The developers of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 have released global patches for the community-reported crashing problems that affected both games. Both games have been plagued by crashing problems for months. This update will fix the problems and players can again play the game without any issues. Devs have been constantly working to make the player base satisfied.

Global

Crash fixes

A number of fixes are included in this update to lower the reported crashes. Devs said that these crash fixes and enhancing stability for both games are on their priority list.

Bug Fixes

  • An issue where Weapon Decals and Stickers appeared to be blocked has been fixed.
  • Devs fixed an issue where target markers continue to appear after using Spotter Scope while using ADS with a weapon.
  • Devs fixed an issue where players were able to use Sentry Gun inside a tank.
  • The issue where Gunsmith UI tiles were not showing Gun Screens correctly has been fixed.
  • Earlier players were being kicked out from Gunsmith when crafting a custom knife. Devs have fixed this issue.
  • The knife variants weren’t displaying properly in Gunsmith. This issue has been fixed.
  • Devs fixed a bug in Gunsmith where players were unable to save a custom mode when attempting to choose a camouflage.
  • Some Players experienced a bug that crashes the game when they dismiss a notification. Devs have fixed this issue.
  • Fixed a few problems that players were experiencing while entering and exiting the firing range in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.

Navigation Improvements

  • Improved navigation and functioning of the Social menu.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some users from accessing the Friends/Recent tab after moving the cursor over the top row.
  • The challenge completion animation now correctly displays Calling Card previews.
  • Unusual text overlap in the After Action Report has been fixed.

Warzone 2.0 fixes

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a problem where certain players would lose movement if a recon drone was deployed close to water.

Bug fixes in DMZ game mode

  • The rewards section of the Faction Mission menu was displaying incorrectly. Devs have fixed this issue.
  • a number of problems that affected the functioning and navigation of equipping and previewing insured weapons were resolved.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from accessing the gunsmith to switch camos when using a launcher as a weapon in an insured weapon slot.
