The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 announced a five-day free trial of the game’s multiplayer mode, which will be available on all platforms. New players can enjoy a limited selection of multiplayer modes and special ops experiences during the free-to-play period. Players can now access the initial raid episode that was released in December. To participate, they must form a pre-made squad consisting of three players, as there is no matchmaking option available. However, the campaign mode will not be available.

The free trial coincides with the launch of Season 2 Reloaded and provides players with an opportunity to compete against their friends in various action-packed multiplayer encounters. Previously, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was only free-to-play once and received double XP treatment. Players can purchase the full game at a discounted price on PlayStation until March 16th, although no other sales have been announced for other platforms during the free trial period. Activision Blizzard has announced that the multiplayer and some game modes of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be available for free from March 16 to March 20. The limited-time free offer includes access to six multiplayer maps, but with some restrictions compared to the full edition.

The multiplayer and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Special Ops menus will have their own limitations, only allowing players to open certain things. However, players will have access to the cooperative raid introduced with Season 1, which could help boost party numbers. The free trial will also include a variety of game modes like Domination, Team Deathmatch, Infected, and Gun Game.

With the arrival of Season 2 Reloaded, gamers can now immerse themselves in the Himmelmatt Expo, a fresh multiplayer map. This medium-sized arena presents an exciting experience for new players to discover. As they traverse through the main event center and surrounding facilities, such as restaurants, bars, and saunas, they will encounter various challenges and engage in thrilling battles. Apart from Himmelmatt Expo, the free-access content includes core maps such as Farm 18, Mercado Las Almas, Shipment, and Dome.
