“I’m back,” Clix unbanned from Fortnite after two weeks
It seems like the #freeclix movement paid off.
Clix unbanned from Fortnite
Famous Fortnite player and streamer Cody “Clix” Conrod was unbanned from the game earlier today. He had previously received a 2-week ban from Fortnite for “teaming” during a solo competition. However, earlier today, he posted a tweet stating he was back and was seen streaming Fortnite on his Twitch channel.
Shortly after receiving the ban, the Fortnite star came on live and disclosed the details of his ban. Since his ban from the pro scene and Fortnite in general, Clix has tried his hand at other games, but most importantly, he started doing some IRL streams. In his most recent stream, he could be seen playing poker. Just before Clix received his ban from Fortnite, a video of the incident for which he got banned started circling social media.
When this clip went viral on social media Epic decided to take action. Hence he received 14 days ban from the game.
On April 24, Clix received a ban from Epic Games for 2 weeks after the devs caught him “teaming” in a solos $100 dollar Cash Cup tournament. The former NRG player during his participation in a $100 Cash Cup, committed a severe mistake by picking up loot from a stream sniper. The perpetrator was following him throughout the game. Looting a player before eliminating them from the round is a big no-no.
As a result of this ban, Clix couldn’t participate in FNCS 2023 Major 2 which concluded on May 4. However, the streamer did not leave any stone unturned in his attempt to convince Epic Games to unban him, even releasing a t-shirt pleading to Epic Games to unban him, starting a social media chant #freeclix.
Earlier today, Clix posted an update on Twitter about his return to Fortnite, stating, “I’m back.” After leaving NRG, Clix has been without a squad, and he might have joined one if Epic had not imposed a ban on him.
When he first got banned quite a few prominent figures in the streaming community came to his support. One of them is Nicholas Teddy Amyoony, aka Nick Eh 30. He said while Clix’s behavior is unacceptable, Epic imposing 2 weeks ban is an overkill.
However, the streamer has now finally been unbanned, as he was seen streaming Fortnite on Twitch. He broke the news of his being unbanned from Fortnite while on a Twitch stream.
