The first-person shooter game Counter-Strike has been around for more than 24 years now. In addition, Valve published Counter-Strike 2, a.k.a. CS2, on September 27, 2023, to replace Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CS2 was in beta for a reasonable time this year, and now it’s finally out. Furthermore, this game has seen a lot of changes. Recently, the famous CS Pro and NaVi’s main AWPer S1mple are taking a break from CS2 and might be exploring other opportunities!
FPS games have always been the backbone of the gaming community. Furthermore, Vavle’s Counter-Strike, a game that started off as a mod, has generated more than 100 million strong player base. And there’s not one person who doesn’t know how big the CS2 eSports scene is. The game’s eSports industry is very vast and have seen major tournaments for years now!
Thus, the game has birthed many famous players that fans absolutely adore and respect. From Dev1ce to the former CS pro-ScreaM, there are many pros that the community knows well. Furthermore, out of all, the most famous CS Pro, NaVi’s S1mple, has an entirely different and dedicated fanbase! However, those fans are in shock right now with S1mple’s announcement!

NaVi’s S1mple is taking a break from CS2 and will explore different opportunities
Some legends are born while some are made, and NaVi’s S1mple is a legend through and through. This explosive AWPer has always impressed people this his out-of-this-world skills. Furthermore, fans know the Pro player as nothing short of a god in the Counter-Strike eSports industry! S1mple has a winning record of a Major, 21 HLTV MVP medals, and an Intel Grand Slam trophy, among other numerous S-Tier tournament trophies!
Moreover, the AWPer has garnered much more than success from Counter-Strike, i.e., the respect of fans. NaVi has also seen immense success after S1mple joined their roster. But it seems like that’s going to change now!
In a recent X post, S1mple revealed that he would be taking a break from CS2 and focusing on other things. This has come as a huge shock to fans. In his post, the CS pro said,
“So what’s next, time to take break as I wanted but that’s only half of story. Need to fix documents and take care of other people in my life. About switching to other org: never thought about it but would be interesting to see offers, maybe on rifle since AWP bit not impactful in new game. While nothing decided yet I hope you still gonna cheer for boys in upcoming tournaments”
Furthermore, NaVi has made S1mple an “inactive” member of their roster. Fans are really heartbroken and in shock with S1mple’s abrupt decision to leave CS2. It’s mostly because CS2 doesn’t feel like Counter-Strike, which is the game everyone fell in love with years ago and counting. Currently, there’s no confirmation when or if S1mple will be coming back; however, fans are still keeping high hopes!
