Dead Island 2 was highly anticipated game that had been under development for over a decade. In the past 3 days since it release, the game has sold over 1 million copies world wide. Considering the hype surrounding the game, it was no surprise fans bought the game as soon as it hit the stores.

Dead Island 2 is a recently released action role-playing game developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver. The third installment to the Dead Island series has been well received by the fans. The game is available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo. Three days since its release date of 21st April, the game has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide. “Dead Island 2 has won fans from around the world with countless players snapping up a copy of the drop dead gore-geous game in the first 72 hours,” Deep Silver said in a recent interview.

Dead Island fans had to wait almost a decade for Deep Silver to release the sequel for the Dead Island released in 2011 and the game did not disappoint. Although game critics complained that the game had a repetitive nature with its missions and the game did not have an open world map. Even with some negative reviews, people have bought the game and it has started getting better reviews.

Since its release, Deep Silver’s Dead Island 2 sold more that a million copies worldwide. Although the game has projected great numbers since its release, games like Dying Light 2 and Back for Blood have produced massive numbers in the week since its release. The game hasn’t only received positive reviews and that could hinder its sales in the coming days.

Although in an interesting stat line other than its sales, it was revealed that players have played a combined total of 11 million hours in the game and collectively died 28 million times which is twice the population of Los Angles, the city the game is set in. Players have also eliminated over 1 billion zombies and a total of 756 million zombie limbs have been violently chopped off. The fans have been enjoying the gore and blood the game has to offer in the beautiful scenary of Los Angles.
