Elden Ring Millicent quest: All locations and how to complete

Complete the Millicent quest in Elden Ring to get the Miquella's Needle.

Elden Ring offers a variety of game-spanning NPC questlines that develop as you travel through the Lands Between, in addition to difficult boss encounters, stunning scenery, and a variety of things to discover. FromSoftware did a fantastic job in creating these over-the-top quests. One of these questions includes Millicent’s quest.

Millicent is quite an intriguing character in the Elden Ring. She is a young lady suffering from a fatal illness and is trying to unravel the riddles of her past. You will travel through almost the entire map and enter some of its most secret areas as you follow Millicent’s quest. It is the longest and most complex quest in the game. You must first encounter a different Character, an old sorcerer named Gowry, in order to begin Millicent’s questline.

Elden Ring: Millicent Questline

Find and talk to Gowry

As mentioned earlier, you need to interact with Gowry to start Millicent quest in Elden Ring. You can find him in his shack in the east of Aeonia Swamp in Caelid. Go along the path to the north and walk through the huge gate once you’ve arrived at the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace. Just be careful of the troll who is hurling rocks from the cliff above. You will see his shack on your right side. Go in the shack and talk to Gowry. After interacting with him he will ask your help to locate Unalloyed Gold Needle to help Millicent.

Find the Unalloyed Gold Needle

To find this item, you need to head to Aeonia Swamp in Elden Ring. Near the swamp, you will see Commander O’Neil. You need to defeat him as O’Neil will drop the Unalloyed Gold Needle. Although Commander O’Neil isn’t extremely tough, he can summon assistance, which can make the battle more tedious. Also, you can battle him while riding Torrent, which is advantageous. Engage the boss and direct him back into the Inner Aeonia Site of Grace if you are having trouble defeating him. After defeating and acquiring Unalloyed Gold Needle, head back to Gowry’s Shack. He will instruct further for the quest. Gowry will also give you Sellia’s Secret.

Take Unalloyed Gold Needle to Millicent at the Church of the Plague

Now players need to go to Millicent. She can be found in the Church of the Plague which is located in the northeast direction of Gowry’s Shack. The secret of Sellia will allow you to access the road to the church. To enter the village, simply light the nearby beacons. Alternatively, you can utilize Torrent to quickly get there from the Bestial Sanctum in the north. You will see Millicent in the ruins of the Church of the Plague. Give her the needle and wait at the Site of Grace. Now talk to her again and she will give you the Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom talisman. You need to go to Gowry’s shack again. After speaking with Gowry, either reload the game or fast-travel to the closest Site of Grace and return to his shack. You will Millicent in the shack with Gowry.

Meet Millicent at Erdtree-Gazing Hill

You need to get the Valkyrie Prothesis items from a chest in the Shaded Castle before you meet Millicent. It will be present on the extreme left side room, guarded by a CleanRot Knight. You can either fight him or stealthily go past him, whichever approach suits you. After receiving the item, go to Millicent. She will be sitting just to the north of the Erdtree Gazing Hill Site of Grace. Give her the Valkyrie Prothesis and wait till her dialogue ends.

Take down the Godskin Apostle in Windmill Village

You must now proceed to Windmill Village in the Altus Plateau’s north in Elden Ring. After activating the Windmill Village Site of Grace, go to the east where you will see Godskin Apostle, a new boss which you have to defeat. He is pretty tough to deal with. You need to play safe and active on the foot to dodge his attacks till you figure out his attack patterns. His composure appears to be compromised by multiple hits from magic damage, and he shows significant bleeding vulnerability. After defeating him, go to Windmill Heights Site of Grace where you’ll meet Millicent.

Meet Millicent at Mountaintop of the Giants in Elden Ring

Now you need to go to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Graxe in the Mountaintops of the Giants region. You can find Millicent south of Castle Sol and southeast of Stargazer’s Ruin on the Elden Ring map. When you speak to her, she will tell you that you can call her in battle. She tells you to find Malenia. Millicent also reveals that Haligtree Secret Medallion will unlock a hidden location at the Grand Lift of Rold.

Meet Millicent at Brace of the Haligtree

Get access to Micquella’s Haligtree and proceed carefully while going down the tree branches. You will fight some giant ants and Albinaurics on your way. It is recommended to bring ranged attacks or else you will face some serious problems. After that, you will fight Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree boss. After defeating her, go to Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Continue until you reach the Prayer Room Site of Grace. There you need to find Millicent. She will again talk about Malenia.

Take down the mini-boss Ulcerated Tree Spirit

As you move deeper into the Brace of the Haligtree, there are tonnes of enemies you need to defeat. You need to move forward, passing a bunch of Scarlet Rot pools till you reach the Drainage Channel Site of Grace. After passing the Drainage channel, you will meet Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Even though it’s disgusting, you must slay this Ulcerated Tree Spirit in order to further Millicent’s quest in Elden Ring.

Either Fight Millicent or Assist her

After taking down the Ulcerated Tree Spirit, you need to return to the Drainage Channel Site of Grace and then return back to the battle area. After coming back to the place where you defeated Ulcerated Tree Spirit, the game will prompt you to take a choice. If you choose the red summoning sign, then you have to fight Millicent and kill her, Your quest will end here, and will get Millicent’s Prosthesis. However if you pick the yellow summoning sign, you will some NPCs alongside her. After defeating these NPCs you will get the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia. It will increase attacking power. Now again, you need to go back to the Drainage Channel Site of Grace and return back there to find the Unalloyed Gold Needle.

Get Miquella’s Needle in Elden Ring

After getting the Unalloyed Gold Needle, go further in the Brace of the Haligtree and defeat Malenia. After defeating her, reload the area. You will find Malenia’s scarlet bloom after returning to that area. You have to use Unalloyed Gold Needle to get Miquella’s Needle. The special capability of Miquella’s Needle allows it to reverse the Flame of Frenzy ending.

Go back to the Gowry’s Shack in Caelid

Regardless of whether you confronted or helped Millicent, you should now return to Gowry’s Shack to get Gowry’s Bell Bearing in Elden Ring and the Flock’s Canvas Talisman.
