Esports Award 2023: Valorant’s new villain Demon1 bags the Esports Breakthrough Player of the Year award

The Esports Awards are among the most prestigious events in the Esports industry. The Esports Awards 2023 were recently held in the Resorts World Las Vegas on November 30th. The awards aim to acknowledge and pay homage to many Esports personalities who work tirelessly to make Esports possible.

The Esports Awards 2023 event was a huge success, beloved by fans of eSports all over the world. Moreover, games like Valorant and their publishers, Riot Games, were a phenomenon at the event! They won many awards and had the fan base excited throughout. Moreover, this event dedicated itself to Valorant and its eSports scene, with the game-winning Esports of the Year along with awards in many other categories.

The Esports Breakthrough Player of the Year Award aims to celebrate the up-and-coming future of the Esports scene. It is awarded not necessarily to players who have made their debut season but to players who have broken through with outstanding performances in their respective video games.

Demon1 wins Esports Breakthrough Player of the Year Award

Demon1, being dubbed as Valorant’s new villain, took home the award for Esports Breakthrough Player of the Year. Fans thought that he was the most deserving of the award. The star plays for Evil Geniuses and carries his team through VCT 2023 to win them the world championship in an incredible underdog story.

The team was not the favorite to win the tournament by any means. However, their persistence landed them in the finals against Paper Rex, which they won with a comfortable 3-1 victory. Demon1 was named MVP of the entire tournament for his stellar performance throughout. His team placed second in the VCT Tokyo Masters and won 6 valiant tournaments last year.

The pro was once a player of Unreal Tournament 4 and had a smooth transition to the world of Valorant. Esports Breakthrough Player of the Year is not the only award the Evil Geniuses team won this year. Potter, the coach of the World champion team, also won an award for Coach of the Year.
