There are many eSports athletes who hail from the country Ukraine, but none are more famous than the legendary god of CSGO s1mple. The Ukrainian player is thought by many to be the best player in the history of the game and many players look up to his insane ability. But it is easy to forget due to the diversity of eSports that each player hails from their specific country too. When the Russian invasion of Ukraine took place s1mple was utterly devasted.

What has s1mple said before this?
The invasion of Ukraine took place when he was participating in the Intel Extreme masters tournament in Katowice, Poland. He was constantly making tweets about his dire concerns over the well being of his family and friends who were in the city of Kyiv while it was being shelled by Russian forces.

What did he say at IEM?
“eSports is out of politics” he said as the crowd cheered him on, “I have played with Ukrainian players, played with Russian players and played with American players they’re all great guys”. Then he proceeded to call his current Navi roster his real friends, it seems s1mple is a man who lives by his word as the current Navi roster consists of two Ukrainian players and three Russian players. eSports truly is out of politics just like he said.
