BGMI is back in force to shake the eSports sector once again! The previously dormant Indian eSports community is now, once again, in full bloom as a result of the BGMI’s re-release. Furthermore, new competitions and eSports organizations are emerging virtually daily. Finally, the prime moment for the Indian esports sector and streamers has arrived. And the Battleground India Series 2023 (BGIS 2023) has been going on strong. However, the famed team, GodLike Esports, has been eliminated from the tournament in round 3 due to their poor performance!
BGMI has supported the Indian eSports sector since its inception. The popular battle royale game has brought along with it waves in the gaming community. And after the game’s re-release in May, many major tournaments have re-surfaced, too! Furthermore, with the game completing its 3-month trial period, BGMI is here to stay. One of the prominent tournaments for the game, the BGIS 2023, is currently in full bloom. Teams across the country are fiercely duking it out against each other.
The prize pool of the tournament is a whooping 2,00,00,000 INR. This shows how well Krafton‘s BGMI is reviving and strengthening the Indian eSports industry. However, one team that fans had bet their expectations and money on, GodLike Esports, is going to miss out on this huge prize pool.

GodLike Esports eliminated from BGIS 2023 in round 3 following an underwhelming performance
BGIS 2023 is receiving a lot of love from the community, and it’s enjoying a really strong run. Moreover, round 3, day 2, was concluded today. Around 256 teams made it into Round 3, with 224 from Round 2 along with the top 32 teams from Round 1 of the week 5 grind. Furthermore, the teams were divided into groups of 16, and the top 4 teams from each group would be moving to round 4. And unfortunately, one of the famed teams, GodLike Esports, would not be making their way to round 4.
Despite having a good roster, GodLike Esports’ performance during round 3 was quite underwhelming. The team landed in the 7th place, with a total of 52 points. GodLike won their first game by a score of 26 points to get their Round 3 first match off to a strong start. Jonathan, a renowned player of BGMI on their side, recorded five eliminations and displayed great play in this game. However, it all fell short during their second game, where they lost to CS Esports and didn’t rake in any points at all.
Furthermore, in their two games on day 2 of round 3, GodLike couldn’t do any better and scored only 5 points. The team thus landed on a lower spot and lost the chance to fight for the 2cr prize pool! This had been a nerve-striking and disheartening loss for GodLike Esports, as now they have to end their BGIS 2023 run early on. However, the hype for BGIS is yet to die down, as the tournament will soon proceed to the quarter-finals, and many teams are still standing strong!
