Because of strong partnerships like Marvel, Star Wars, and even God of War, Fortnite has continually found success. These collabs have also considerably expanded the player base. Moreover, this FPS game from Epic Games has created waves in the video game industry! However, every now and then, some weird feature or mechanic always pops up in the game. And this time, Epic Games has introduced a new Age-Restriction to some skins in Fortnite!

Fortnite is Epic Games’ biggest success in the battle royale shooter genre. Furthermore, players love the game because its unique mechanics make it unmatched in the shooting genre. And Chapter 4 has added a lot of new content to the game. Moreover, with the OG map coming back in the recent Chapter 4 Season 5 update, the game’s seen a revamp. Everything old has come back new in the game, and players are getting a burst of nostalgia!

Moreover, with old stuff coming back to the game, so are old players. Even famous Fortnite streamers, like Ninja, are loving the game’s new look! However, it seems like a new addition that is soon coming to the game is titling players in pure shock. Epic Games has introduced an age-restriction feature in Fortnite that would age-restrict some of the game’s skins!

Epic Games to add an age-restriction feature in Fortnite for some of the game’s skins

Fortnite’s skin and cosmetics market is really huge. Additionally, there are numerous skins in Fortnite, and most of them are collabs. Fortnite has a very rich and extensive history of collaborations. The game has collaborated with several celebrities, media outlets, and other games. Fortnite collaborations are incredibly popular, ranging from God of War to Lewis Hamilton and even Stranger Things! And this is the reason the game’s skins are so famous.

Epic Games is adding a new age-restriction feature to Fortnite that makes some of the game’s skin unusable in some of the game modes. This update comes at a really odd time, as Fortnite‘s popularity is through the roof with the recent OG map update.

Also, considering how Fortnite’s major hype comes from its in-game skins, an update that renders players unable to use their skin isn’t something the fan base is supporting. Furthermore, some of the fan reaction over this new feature is really hilarious and harsh:

This new age restriction on skins in Fortnite wasn’t an update that players were looking forward to. Furthermore, this update is going to mess with the game’s popularity, and this is definitely not the right time for such a feature update. With the whole Fortnite Antitrust trial going on against Google, Epic Games needs to have all the favor it can get from its fan base. And this new update isn’t helping their case at all.
