Genshin Impact has announced that they have decided to recast the English voice actor of Tighnari. This comes after a week of investigations and verification from miscellaneous sources. The post originally held by Elliot Gindi will no longer be accessible to him.

On their Twitter account, the developers have informed the community that Elliot Gindi will not be lending his voice to Tighnari, a 5-star Dendro character in the game. The decision was taken after communicating with the English voice recording agency, but they refrained from revealing the whole situation.

The only reason provided for this removal is ‘breach of contract’. In a follow-up tweet, Genshin Impact developers state that they are discussing the issue of casting and re-recording the old voices of Tighnari. This implies that the existing English voice lines of Tighnari will be replaced by a new voice actor very soon.

Why did Genshin Impact fire Tighnari’s VA Elliot Gindi?

Elliot Gindi got exposed by one of his channel moderators on Twitter. The mod decided to reveal the Discord chats that took place between Elliot and the minor girls which the voice actor apparently used to ‘groom’ and harass them se*ually.

The chats were solid proof of what Tighnari’s former VA has been doing in the community during the recent months. In addition to that, some Twitter users and his channel moderators confirmed the situation to be true.

Following this, Elliot Gindi himself pleaded guilty for his wrongdoings. In a TwitLonger post, the former Genshin Impact VA admitted that he used to keep physical relationships with some teen members of the Discord group, due to his ‘stardom’.

This led to a huge outrage by the community as other voice actors started demanding HoYoverse fire him immediately from the post. Even fans took charge to place a similar demand in front of the developers. Fortunately, the issue has been resolved as Genshin Impact has provided their decision.

The announcement saw some praiseworthy reactions from fans and content creators alike. Prominent streamers of the game such as Zy0x, Enviosity and AsianGuy Stream appreciated HoYoverse for their prompt move.
