The second leg of VCT Lock/In kicked off on February 22. The teams in the Omega division looked very stacked, and all teams are top-tier. On February 23, one of the best NA teams, 100 Thieves, collided with the Chinese invitational team, Edward Gaming. 100 Thieves didn’t make a lot of changes to their roster. They only brought Xset’s cryocells in place of Will. The current EDward Gaming team has been playing together for over a year, and several members, including their IGL Haodong, have been on the team since it was founded in 2020. They have a lot of experience playing in China, and they even made it to Champions 2022 by winning the East Asian LCQ, but they failed to advance past the group stage like 100T.

It was among the best matches in VCT Lock/In. Every round was an absolute nail-biter. Both teams were neck-and-neck with each other. Yongkang Zheng, Chichoo from EDG, Stellar, and Bang and Cryo put on a hell of a show. Thanks to Stellar, Bang, and Cryocells, 100 Thieves vanquished Edward Gaming with a 2-1 win in the best of 3 series. Every fan was on the edge of his seat during the Pearl Map. Even though the EDG lost, Yongkang Zheng and Chichoo showed that even though this Chinese team is new on the scene, they can give a great challenge to the best of the best teams. They both were ruthless and clutched multiple rounds for their team. One interesting thing in the match was that the sentinel role players were on top of both teams.

Everyone at the Tarik’s watch party was very revved up. Founder of 100 Thieves, Nadeshot, shared the video of their head of esports, Jacob Toft-Andersen celebrating 100T’s remarkable win. Nadeshot also mentioned that the guy is the calmest person in their office. But this matchup pumped him too.
