“I only have the truth”: FaZe Mew responds to the allegations made by Ashtronova, claiming the ‘act’ was done on mutual consent

Ashtronova and FaZe Mew
A couple of days since Twitch streamer Ashtronova came forward with the allegations that Kerry ‘Mew’ Nguyen tried to approach her inappropriately when they were on a night out with their friends, FaZe Mew has responded to all the accusations made on him in a TwitLonger post.
While the eSports personality respected the decision of his organization to suspend him due to the ‘grave’ accusations put against him, he decided to reveal his side of the story. One of the key points to be noted in his response is that the couple did everything on consent, and he didn’t film any video that night, which Ashtronova mentioned a few days ago.
He decided to frame the entire timeline of events which happened that night, including screenshots of some previous texts exchanged between him and Ashtronova. FaZe Mew explained that they did have s*x, but it was only after a mutual consent because he didn’t force her to do anything.
“She states, ‘I’m pretty sure I consented.’ Context here is important: this was verbal consent. I literally asked her if it was ok if I touched her, and she said yes.” FaZe Mew explained in the post. He added that things progressed between the couple eventually but during the whole time, Ashtronova was ‘was actively engaged during the event’, and didn’t seem uncomfortable during the whole night.
FaZe Mew will seek legal action against the allegations
Continuing the post, he had stated that after this encounter occurred between them, he tried to text her and even wished to go on a date with her to ensure that this doesn’t become a one-time hookup sort of thing. This contradicts with the statement given by Ashtronova when she claimed that FaZe Mew was ‘love bombing and pressuring her’.
Responding to the explicit video he filmed while the couple were together, he stated, “This is not true. I never filmed her or us in the bedroom. I have no idea where that came from.” The FaZe Clan member mentioned that he and Ashtronova remained in contact and even attended the CoD event at September 2022, after everything that took place between them.
He explained that he was disheartened to see that the events were made into public as he wanted to discuss these issue personally but now that it has come to this, he is forced to reveal all the details. After FaZe Clan suspended him, he vowed to take matter into his own hands and take legal action to do things the right way.
“I am now losing members of my community, losing respect among my friends, and losing money from my sponsorships and partners,” FaZe Mew concluded in the TwitLonger post while simultaneously claiming that he never tried to blackmail or silence her. “I only have the truth and I apologize to anyone affected”, he stated.
How did Twitter react to his response?
FaZe Mew’s post received a lot of traction and comments that seemed to go against him as people are claiming that since he has lied before, he can lie now as well.
A majority of people don’t seem to be convinced that FaZe Mew isn’t guilty here. While the community has received stories from both the sides, it will be interesting to know whether anyone of them considers taking legal action.
