Fortnite Tornadoes Update
Earlier, a Fortnite Chapter 3 hotfix had revealed that Tornados are coming to the game, all active to change the gameplay experience for players. Fornite has already received the big weather change in the game in respect to tornadoes and lightning yesterday, and the changes have been reflected in the gameplay since then.
They have already been appearing in the games and bring a new horizon of gameplay in this season. There are also a lot of new features being incorporated in the game as the season gets ahead at its peak.
According to a popular Fortnite data miner, the changes are as follows:
- Tornado chance increased from 80% to 100%
- Tornado can now spawn in first 6 storms, was 5 before
- Tornado chance to get delayed in first storm reduced from 3 minutes to 2
- Lightning storm delay time reduced from 3 minutes to 2 minutes
If you see a tornado start to form, that’s no signal to flee. Instead, run into it as a swirling escape strategy! You’ll spin round and round ‘til you choose to glide to safety — or if you stay spinning long enough — ‘til the twister spits you out. Don’t worry: you won’t take fall damage if you get hurled.

Tornadoes aren’t the only aspect of extreme weather coming to Fortnite, however, we will be getting lightning storms as well. If you are struck by an electrical bolt from one of these then you will take 10 damage but also gain a speed boost, similar to when you consume a chili chug splash.
Fortnite Tornadoes form as a tall dark swirling column of wind, sucking up players, vehicles, scenery, and pretty much anything else that isn’t nailed down as they move across the map. The extra speed will bring a twist in the game for sure.
