The Grapple Glove is a Miscellaneous Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added in Chapter 3: Season 3’s Content Update v21.00. The Glove overheats when the player lands after using it too much, with a cooldown until they can be used again.

Grapple Glove functions similar to Spider-Man’s Web Shooters in which players traverse swiftly through the air by shooting at a surface and swinging towards it. The Glove overheats when the player lands after using it too much, with a cooldown until they can be used again. After landing, the cooldown will be dependent on how long the player swings for, from 3-15 seconds.

The glove also overheats should you swing too many times in quick succession whilst in mid-air, this knocks you out of the swinging state and can deal fall damage depending on your height. This can similarly be caused by an opponent shooting your Grapple Glove’s cable whilst you swing.
