Forza Horizon to reveal Oval Track & cars just in time for Indy 500.

Initially Forza Horizon was an answer to Nintendo’s Mario Kart and PlayStation’s NFS series and Gran Turismo. But Xbox’s entry with Forza broke all expectations and soon became a cult followed game. The FH 3 was best selling racing game of 2016 and won many gaming awards as well. Forza with this took the racing games one notch up and set new standards for racing games altogether.

Recently, Forza Horizon 5 announced the release of Oval track for the upcoming Indy 500 event. The new race track will be unveiled on April 21, 2023, along with 3 new surprise track cars that will be available under DLC. One of them is a Lamborghini STO Huracan, one is a Mercedes AMG one-custom and third is yet to be known.

Oval track in FH 5

A custom built oval track motorsports park with a pit lane garage and an infield area for alternate routes will be done. You can compete against the clock or your friends around the medium speed oval. The checkpoints are set up so you have the option to use the infield route. It features individual sector time comparison and tracks the sessions best lap. Hold Brake, E-Brake, & Activate when you are ready to end the event. All events are tested to work in multiplayer PVP convoys or solo. The track will be available on April 21 , 2023.

What’s Indy 500?

The Indy 500 is an annual automobile race that takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana, USA. The race is part of the IndyCar Series and is considered one of the most prestigious events in the world of motorsports. The Indy 500 features a field of 33 drivers, who compete for the Borg-Warner Trophy and a share of the prize money, which in recent years has been over $13 million. The drivers come from all over the world, and many are former champions or up-and-coming stars in the sport.

The race is typically held on the Sunday before Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday of May. The event spans several days, with practice and qualifying sessions taking place in the weeks leading up to the race. The race itself is 500 miles long, which equates to 200 laps around the 2.5-mile oval track. Overall, the Indy 500 is an iconic event that combines high-speed racing with history, tradition, and spectacle. And Forza Horizon is trying to line up it’s Oval track for more attention and downloads.

1. Lamborghini Huracan STO

It is going to be another DLC car in the game. Lamborghini Huracan STO, or “Super Trofeo Omologato”. As the name suggests, this car is effectively a homologation model for the Huracan Super Trofeo race car, and combines the most powerful version of the 5.2-liter V10 with extensive use of carbon-fiber — including the “cofango” front hood.

2. Mercedes AMG ONE

The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE will combine stunning racetrack performance and practical Formula 1 hybrid technology with exemplary efficiency. The two-seater Mercedes-AMG Project ONE will transfer the latest and most efficient Formula 1 hybrid technology almost one to one from the track to the street for the first time. The performance hybrid will produce over 1,000 horsepower at a maximum speed of over 350 km/h.

We don’t know how visual aspect and performance is going to be like. It’s about time for FH5 to reveal the same on April 21, 2023. Let’s keep an eye on how FH5 has in the bag for this time around and the Surprise car for the event. Until then have fun riding in waste lands of Mexico!
