Genshin Impact leaks hint on shortened updates for the upcoming 3 patches
Sumeru updates likely to be shortened in Genshin Impact
Travelers have been thoroughly enjoying the ‘Summer Fantasia’ update of the game with the character banner of Yoimiya being available currently. Simultaneously, players are ardently waiting for the 3.0 update to become available on their devices regarding which Genshin Impact leaks have claimed that the upcoming three patches is likely to be shortened by a week.
This unexpected information has come from a leaker named Uncle Chasm, a Chinese data miner who has provided accurate information until now. However, we urge the players not to have blind trust on the leaks and wait for the official confirmation.

Upcoming Sumeru patches to be shortened, says Genshin Impact leaks
The fourth nation of Teyvat, Sumeru is going to be available starting from the 3.0 update. Players should be ready with their stock of primogems to summon for the Dendro characters. In addition to that, the primary content prepared for the 3.0 update will be showcased in today’s special program, which we suggest should not be missed at any cost.
Looking back at the previous release dates of new updates, every patch is rolled out after 42 days, therefore Genshin Impact leaks already stated that the first Sumeru update will be released on 24th August. However, the next 3 updates are going to be shortened by a week which implies that the patches will last for 35 days instead of the usual 42 days. If the leaks are proved to be correct, we are soon going be informed on this by HoYoverse.
Players who had earlier theorized the release dates for each Sumeru patch might want to update their calendar as the new information brings forward the release dates of the patches after 3.0 update. The new schedule will be released in the following manner-
- 3.1 update: September 28
- 3.2 update: November 2
- 3.3 update: December 7
Some of the previous Genshin Impact leaks given by Project Celestia stated that the Battle Pass duration was cut shorted which further hinted on shortened updates. There had been a ton of rumors on this aspect but players were eager to have a solid information which fortunately is now available by a trustworthy source.

Why are the updates being shortened?
While the data miners have not given any information as to why these updates are getting shortened by a week or whether the patches after 3.3 update will be shortened as well but fans have got a general idea about the reason for this decision by the game developers. If players remember, the 2.6 update was extended for 62 days due to unprecedented Covid cases in China, the hub of game development.
This had led to a series of speculations that the upcoming updates will be shortened. It now seems like that HoYoverse has decided to do the shortening for Sumeru updates. Another interesting thing to note is that the 3.1 update is releasing just on the second anniversary date, this could be another reason for the developers to shorten patches and keep an organized track.
