Global Esports Valorant roster is in shambles as two of the key players set to leave the Indian org following the awful 2023 VCT season
Global Esports has some hard thinking to do for the 2024 VCT season
Global Esports is a beloved and one of the top eSports org in India. When Riot Games in 2022, revealed the franchising system for the VCT, many fans were pleasantly surprised as Global Esports received a franchising spot in the Pacific League. It was the first time that the Indian org was set to compete at international Valorant tournaments. Fans were excited to see the roster for the team.
The highlight of the roster was the NA org Xset’s Ayrin who switched the region. Ayrin also led the team during the 2023 season. In addition to him, Monyet, Bazzi, Wronski, T3xture, Lightningfast, India’s beloved Valorant pro, SkRossi. It was a bit odd for Indian fans that the roster had only 2 local players. Despite this, fans were ready to show their support for the org. But the run didn’t go as expected or for some it was exactly how they expected it to go.
GE run during the 2023 VCT season was below average. Out of 11 matches in the 2023 season, they just managed to win 3. They competed in only one international event and that too because every team was invited there. Following this debacle, a few of the players are moving from the org. Canadian pro, Ayrin has confirmed that he will be leaving Global Esports for the 2024 VCT season.

Global Esports IGL Ayrin and Monyet are leaving the org for the next VCT season
Ayrin on September 10 took to X and revealed that his contract with Global Esports has expired and will not be renewing it. He thanked the founders and coaches for his time in the org. Additionally, He said, “A crazy ambitious project with 6 nationalities and 6 duelist players. Wish we had more time with the squad. I will be making a video/post in the near future talking about my teammates, the whole experience as an import during the first year of franchising, and the crazy obstacles that we were presented with. Also can’t forget the passionate GE fans, #gefighting one last time.”
Some fans were obviously surprised by Ayrin moving from the NA region to the Pacific. They were curious to know how things would unfold. But Ayrin has now confirmed that he is going back to NA or will explore the EMEA scene.
In addition to Ayrin, it has been reported that Global Esports’ top-performing player, Monyet is also moving from the org and is being transferred to Valorant Champions 2023 runner-ups, Paper Rex. Monyet did a tremendous job and played the crucial role of controller during the season. He was regarded as one of the best controller players of the 2023 VCT season which is itself a great feat.
What’s next for Global Esports?
With Wronski already leaving the org during the season and now these 2 great players also moving out, Global Esports will be trying to do a complete overhaul. Many questioned the role of SkRossi in the team as he played very awfully the whole season and was labelled a “fraud” as he consistently failed against good opponents. However, some big analyst and players including Tarik has praised him and said that he has good potential. Currently on Liquipedia, their active roster consists of T3xture, Bazzi, SkRossi, and Lightningfast.
Indian region is not the one that is known for FPS eSports much on the international stage. GE getting the franchising spot was a big step toward the evolution of this scene, however, GE failed miserably to make an impression. They need to make some big and tough changes so that they can make a hard comeback in the 2024 season.
As the 2023 VCT season ended with Evil Geniuses winning the Valorant Champions, many teams are making moves to transfer and make changes to their existing roster. Orgs will soon reveal their starting rosters. It will be interesting to see if some new faces come up and some existing players change their jerseys.
