GTA Online’s “Cola Wars” leading faction revealed by Rockstar Games

Players are greatly enjoying this battle of the brands in the game
Over the years, Grand Theft Auto has become one of the most successful video game franchises, a huge proponent of this continued success is the constantly evolving multiplayer open-world game of the series, GTA Online.
The game keeps adding fun events to keep things alive within the world of the game, recently starting what the fans have deemed “Cola Wars”, pitting fans of two in-game drinks Sprunk and eCola (parodies of real-life drinks Sprite and Coca Cola respectively) in a contest of brand loyalty amongst the players.

eCola comes up as the underdog in the GTA Online Cola Wars
A few weeks back, Rockstar Games announced the latest in-game event for GTA Online, asking fans to take sides in a battle of the game’s beverage brands, Sprunk and eCola. They asked the fans to join their favourite brand’s crew to cast their initial vote, following which each can consumed of the soda of the player’s choice will count as an additional vote.
The event was given the name “Cola Wars” on social media by fans of GTA Online, as many players gave it a touch of the turf wars reminiscent of the classic game GTA San Andreas, beating up any players found representing the opposing faction. Rockstar devs also added to the fun by making many cosmetics free to allow more fans to flaunt their loyalty to their brand including bodysuits, glasses, vehicle liveries and much more.
As the event nears its end on September 14, Rockstar provided an update, telling which soda had taken the lead. In a tweet, Rockstar notified:
"While Sprunk has formed the larger Crew, dedicated eCola fans have guzzled their way into the lead by consuming more cans of their favorite soda."
While players race to win bragging rights for their favourite soda, some players took to Reddit to voice some support for a third forgotten beverage in the game, Orang-O-Tang.

Fans of Sprunk will be trying to push forward in an attempt to win the Cola Wars, as once the event is over and all votes are tallied, all participating GTA Online players will receive a bonus of GTA$300K as well as a hat, varsity jacket, and parachute bag with designs based off the winning drink.
