Halo Infinite: Will the Forge World return?

Halo Infinite has been a breath of fresh air for Halo fans. Despite lacking a few features at launch, the game was well-received by fans and critics alike. The game was released in 2021 and still garners a lot of viewers on streaming platforms. Ever since its release, players have been experimenting and playing around with Halo Infinite’s Forge mode to create their own custom maps to play on. And with Halo Infinite currently being one of the most popular first-person shooters, recent evidence suggests 343 Industries has content on the way.

One of the key features that fans have been requesting for a long time is the Forge World. The Forge World was a multiplayer map in 2010’s Halo: Reach. It was primarily used as a blank canvas for players to create their own custom maps to play on. Many beloved multiplayer maps in Halo: Reach were built with Forge World as the foundation.

Is Forge World really making a comeback to Halo Infinite?

The Forge World has not been officially confirmed to be returning to Halo Infinite. However, despite no confirmation from 343 Industries, recent leaks contain evidence for the return of the fan-favorite map.

Rebs Gaming, a reporter who primarily reports on Halo news, recently uploaded a short video containing a series of images. The images displayed are in-development versions of Forge World inside Halo Infinite. The images showcased various areas of the map, with 343 industries making some changes to the original map from Halo: Reach.

The Forge World map is rumored to be massively expanded, with certain areas such as the waterfalls being opened up for players to access and explore. These areas were not originally accessible for exploration in Halo: Reach. The scale appears to be significantly bigger than the original Forge World, entailing exciting news for potential creators. The bigger scale mixed with Halo Infinite’s extensive and advanced Forge opens up various avenues for map makers to explore.

Given the popularity of Forge World and its importance to the Halo community, it is likely that Forge will return in some form in Halo Infinite. Whether Forge World specifically will be included or not remains to be seen. However, 343 Industries has indicated that they are dedicated to providing powerful creation tools for players to use. We can expect some exciting developments in the Forge mode of Halo Infinite.
