Insomniac Games reveals working on ANOTHER AAA game along with Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine

Insomniac Games is an American video game developer and a studio of PlayStation Studios. It has been on a roll recently, as its releases have been equally cherished by critics and fans alike. They came out with Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2018 and followed it up with Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both of them were in association with Marvel and were hugely successful.
Insomniac is working on two of the most highly anticipated games, Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine. Fans are very eager to know what these games have in store for them, as a new story trailer for Spider-Man 2 debuted at Comic-Con. If fans thought this was the end of it, then you are surely wrong. Recently, it has been revealed that Insomniac Games is also working on an AAA game along with these two. It is speculated that it is a multiplayer game. Read the article to learn more.
A new game under development in Insomniac
Erin Eberhardt, project director at Insomniac, was present at a seminar at Full Sail University. During the seminar, Erin revealed that she is headlining another AAA project that the company is working on alongside Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine. Erin didn’t let out anything other than that, as she was not allowed to talk about the unannounced project. Reports state that the AAA project the company is working on maybe multiplayer.
This is by a job listing that Insomniac put out in June 2021 for a multiplayer project. However, no further details have been divulged about the project.
If the reports are true about the AAA game being a multiplayer game, then it will be a big step for Isomniac. The game developers have been more focused on projects associated with more or less single-player games. Other AAA games they have released are Ratchet and Clank and Sunset Overdrive, which was released almost a decade ago.
Insomniac’s mastery in crafting seamless traversal and combat mechanics could seamlessly translate into a co-op multiplayer game, where players unite forces to tackle formidable boss-level challenges. Nevertheless, Insomniac may want to try something as they are currently riding on the success of their recent titles and can capitalize on that momentum.
Expected date for the announcement of the new project
If taking into consideration the job listing as the starting point of the project in 2021 then taking all the development and testing into consideration Insomniac may be aiming to release the unannounced game in 2025 or 2026 unless they encounter any unforeseen events that push the date further. So players can expect Insomniac to disclose the details in 2024.
It’s still a long time. Until then Insomniac will keep players busy with Spider-Man2 releasing on October 20 on PS5. Fans can also get a limited-edition Spider-Man 2-themed PS5 console and Dualshock controller which will go live for pre-booking on 28 July. The next too is going to be fun as for the first time you will get a chance to step into The Wolverine’s shoes. Insomniac sure does love its fans.
