Faker lifts his 4th World Championship trophy after winning the LoL World Championship 2023 finals

T1 defeated Weibo Gaming in a thrilling and grueling League of Legends Worlds Championship 2023 match. With three resounding wins, they destroyed the opposing team. Held in Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, the tournament was really big & successful and filled the Korean audience with immense joy as T1 and Faker won their fourth World Championship title on their home ground.

T1’s mid-laner, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, won his 4th Worlds championship recently, marking a significant victory after seven years. The last time Faker won a Championship title was against Samsung Galaxy in 2016. Furthermore, during this tournament, T1 and Faker totally dominated their opponents. They decimated LPL teams one after another and kept an 11-1 win-to-loss ratio! T1 never lost a single match in BO5s, and Faker proved why he’s a GOAT in LoL!

Moreover, T1 totally destroyed the Chinese teams during this tournament. They won over all four Chinese teams—Bilibili Gaming in the Swiss Stage, LNG Esports in the Quarterfinal, JD Gaming in the Semifinal, and Weibo Gaming in the Grand Final.

At League of Legends Worlds 2013, Faker also referred to as the Unkillable Demon King, won his first match at the age of 17. He was the youngest League of Legends pro to reach this degree of excellence. He just celebrated ten years of a career in which he won his fourth world title—a record that stands unmatched. Faker’s fame has really soured through the sky as he was even nominated for Best Esports Athlete in the Game Awards 2023!

Furthermore, Faker even talked about his future with T1 after winning his 4th world championship:

I am contracted, and I will be continuing to work at T1. I have been learning and growing a lot throughout my career as a professional player; it’s a rare opportunity for a human being. I will say I will continue to play. Retirement plans will come later on.
