The Minecraft gaming community has always been known to be a passionate one. However, in a recent unfortunate turn of events, some very sensitive US intelligence data was leaked on a popular Minecraft Discord server. Apparently, this incident took place after some users had a heated discussion about the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

According to sources, the leak did not originate in the popular Minecraft Discord server. Instead, it was first shared on a smaller server, from which it spread on to the bigger server. Furthermore, it also spread on to other social media platforms like Telegram and Twitter.

The leak took place when two users were having an online discussion about Minecraft maps and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Amidst this argument, one user allegedly dropped the sensitive US intelligence data in the server in an attempt to prove their point with the statement, “Here, have some leaked documents.” According to sources, at least 50 of the documents shared are labeled ‘Top Secret’ or ‘Classified’.

What is interesting to note is that this is not the first instance in which such sensitive military documents have been leaked in an online argument. The gaming community previously saw such a leak when players of the game War Thunder leaked military weapon schematics in order to win an online argument about weapons in the game.

In case of the Minecraft server, the leaker’s account and most of their text messages on the server have been deleted at the time of writing, so the culprit is yet to be caught.

What did the leaked intelligence documents on the Minecraft Discord server contain?

The leaked documents on the Minecraft Discord server reveal sensitive information about the weaponry used by Ukraine in the war. The documents closely detail US’ involvement in the war as well as the CIA. They also go into detail about Ukraine’s weapons and defense mechanisms and strategies, along with details about its military equipment and other such sensitive details.

According to sources, over 50 of the leaked documents are labeled as ‘Classified’ or ‘Top Secret’ intelligence. Aside from a breach into the Ukrainian strategy, these leaked documents also revealed that the USA has planted several spies into the Russian government to extract plans by the Russian intelligence.

While the culprit has not been caught yet, the Ukrainian government has reasons to believe that the leak did not originate in Russia. However, the Pentagon is currently trying its best to remove all such sensitive data from this leak from the internet. But this may not be an easy task, since the data is already quite widespread on various social media platforms.
