MrBeast is one of the most well-known YouTubers of all time. The master of algorithms currently amasses 188 million subscribers, only 62 million subscribers short of being the most followed YouTube channel, T-Series. His philanthropic and highly-produced videos have always impressed fans. However, there seems to be a cause for concern for him in recent times.

The rise of AI (artificial intelligence) has been mind-blowing. In the 21st century, modern technology has defied odds and proven to further ease human tasks and needs. However, it has also been deemed dangerous. Deepfake videos, for instance, are a form of AI that manipulates the facial appearance of any video. This has been done for a range of celebrities who have expressed concern about the matter.

There has been a trend recently of celebrities being seen in videos saying things or promoting things that they never actually did. MrBeast shares concerns after deepfake videos of him surface

MrBeast took to his X (previously Twitter) to share an interesting video. In it, he can be seen saying the following: “If you’re watching this video, you’re one of the 10,000 lucky people who’ll get an iPhone 15 Pro for just $2. I’m MrBeast and I’m doing the world’s largest iPhone 15 giveaway. Click the link in the bio to claim yours now”.

However, the video turned out to be fake. A deep fake, which was digitally manipulated to look and sound like him, promoted a fake iPhone 15 giveaway video. MrBeast captioned the video on his tweet, saying, “Lots of people are getting this deepfake scam ad from me… are social media platforms ready to handle the rise of AI deepfakes? This is a serious problem”.

It clearly bears consequences, as these videos can be misleading. The worst part is that it’s becoming easier and easier for people to engage in it as technology advances. It reached a point where AI projects were commissioned to stop as it was advancing too much and posed a threat.

Even though MrBeast was quick to share it, many people had already commented on being scammed by the video, and it served as evidence of the concerns MrBeast had raised.
