MrBeast reiterates his love for Netflix’s K-Drama Squid Game
Netflix’s survival drama ‘Squid Game’ aired its first episode exactly a year ago. Even though the show has turned one year old, the series has kept its viewers gripped throughout the nine episodes released for its first season. The popularity of Squid Game is evident from the numerous games and anime shows that took inspiration from the K-Drama.
While there might be millions of fans for this show, a notable fan is none other than Jimmy ‘MrBeast‘ Donaldson, who went to the extent of creating a real life Squid Game show on his YouTube channel that amassed staggering number of views. The stakes, of course, were not deadly, as people just got eliminated from the game rather than their life, as depicted in the show.

A similar challenge is in works by the members of Netflix themselves, as revealed by Film Updates on Twitter. The Twitter post announced that the streaming platform has begun the casting call to feature 456 real players who “will enter the game in pursuit of a life-changing cash prize of $4.56 million.”
The announcement caught MrBeast’s attention, who replied to the post wondering whether Netflix would accept his application to participate in the show. Given the insane number of views that his Squid Game challenge got on YouTube, it would hardly be a surprise if Netflix decides to rope in the YouTuber to recreate the challenge in a unique way.
Fans hope to see MrBeast on the reality show
MrBeast is an immensely popular creator recognized by even global figures like Elon Musk and as expected, some eagle-eyed fans were quick to respond to the creator’s wish expressed on Twitter.
Some users were quick to point it out as an irony as MrBeast had done something similar months ago. However, if Netflix does decide to hire him for their upcoming show, the real life Squid Game might just pull in more viewers compared to the original show.
