“I’d be shocked”: MrBeast responds as Elon Musk hints on promoting content creation on Twitter by giving higher compensation to creators
Elon Musk (L) and MrBeast (R)
Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson, being one of the few content creators from YouTube to be recognized by globally famous personalities, once again found himself interacting with Tesla owner and recently turned CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk. The duo were discussing the pros and cons of promoting content on the social media giant.
While a couple of days ago, Twitter was filled with ruckus as ‘RIP Twitter’ started trending on the platform due to employees leaving headquarters, Elon Musk turned the tide by showing a statistics that the platform has gained 1.6 million daily active users. He claimed that the record once again reached an all-time high as more people outside America are engaging actively.
MrBeast gave a cheeky reply, claiming that he wonders how many active users are there on YouTube. Since he recently surpassed PewDiePie in terms of subscribers, he wanted to know whether YouTube has got new users. Elon Musk then replied, “Let’s see what happens when Twitter offers good video with higher compensation for creators.”
This was a clear indication that the business giant is planning to focus on content creation on the platform and he already has a suggestion, which is to pay higher compensation. MrBeast however, stated that it might be hard to do so as YouTube, despite taking their share, gives $20 RPM (Revenue per Mille). “I’d be shocked if you crack that code”, the Kansas native concluded.

Elon Musk once took advice from MrBeast to bring back Vine
Vine was a short video-sharing platform that was acquired by Twitter in 2012 before it could be released officially. The platform saw a huge turnout of content and daily active users but its operations were eventually shut down. However, Twitter’s new CEO wishes to bring back the platform, and surprisingly, he even received the majority of votes on a poll for bringing back the platform.
When MrBeast claimed that he needs to make it better than TikTok, Elon Musk expressed that he’s open to suggestions. Although the discussion wasn’t brought up again, it is evident that Musk is trying hard to bring content creators onto the platform and create intriguing content to bring more audience.
He doesn’t plan to do this without a ‘goal’ in his mind though, as one of his old Tweet claimed that he wishes to monetize content creation on the platform to help content creators grow. He also made it clear that not only video content, but written content would also be provided recognition.
How did Twitterati react on this interaction?
It goes without saying that the interaction that took place between Elon Musk and MrBeast was widely circulated on Twitter. People also expressed their willingness to be a part of Twitter and grow in the platform through content creation.
Another user highlighted that it won’t be a big deal for Musk to pay higher compensation to the creators as he already owns huge companies in the market. Nevertheless, it would be intriguing to see whether he has something up in his sleeve regarding content creation.
