NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal shows interest in streaming after hearing about xQc’s $100,000,000 contract with KICK
Will Big Shaq embrace the streaming community with his presence?
The recent signing of xQc for a multi-year deal with Kick has been buzzing viewers for a while now. Twitch’s rival platform offered a whopping $70 million deal to xQc along with $30 million worth of incentives. It has been the topic of the town in all celebrity realms and just recently, it got the likes of Shaquille O’Neal.
The NBA legend is known for his entertaining character on the internet and has built a large following through it. Even during his NBA days, he put on quite the show, both on and off the field. Following xQc’s contract, the 7’1 baller had a bit to say on the prosperous deal.
Shaquille O’Neal congratulates and reacts to xQc’s deal with Kick
Full Squad Gaming recently invited Big Shaq to their podcast. During the podcast, Shaq discussed, as expected, about basketball and his future plans. Later, The co-hosts discussed about the xQc’s new kick deal with the NBA legend. Shaq was flabbergasted by the news. At the same time, he showcased a respectful gesture as he congratulated xQc, despite not knowing him.
The hosts of the Full Squad Gaming podcast asked Shaq, “Do you know a streamer named xQc?” to which he replied, “No”. They then explain to him that, “So recently there was a streamer that signed a contract for 100 million dollars”. To this the expression Shaq gave was priceless. The giant was awestruck as the hosts explained to him how the 2 year-deal required xQc to stream ANYTHING over the laptop, on the platform, for a payment of 100 million dollars.
Will Shaq join the streaming world?
Curious as to how this new-generation world was headed, he asks “Who’s the streamer” as they answer him he holds his hand up, stops them, processes it through, and proceeds to ask them “Uhh they pay him 50 million just to play video games?” He lowers his head and wipes his face in disbelief. This is probably the closest reaction to how any person might have reacted when they first heard the news.
He then surprisingly tells the hosts of the podcast “He’s in trouble cause I’m about to come after him“. When asked if would he ever try it, he responds “What would I stream” As he’s told how it could be anything from video games, reaction videos, or even just talking, he says “Hmm I might have to try it”. He even half-heartedly mentions how his deal would need to be ‘up there’ with xQc’s.
Shaquille O’Neal congratulated xQc and wished him the best for the future. Given Shaq’s unique and interestingly wild persona, it’s safe to say he might possibly actually consider the deal. He’s well known for running multiple businesses and has an eye for entering into new ventures. As for entertainment, the giant has been doing that since day 1 and so this may just be perfect for him.
