What did Pokimane say about Andrew Tate?
Former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate kept the whole internet busy last month due to his anti-feminist stances, controversial speeches on different social media platforms as well as misogynistic take on women. Several American streamers had something to say about Tate but Twitch fans were eager to hear it from Pokimane.
Imane Anys, who has a fanbase of 10 million followers on Twitch took a break from streaming as well as social media on July 20th. The break lasted almost a month when Andrew Tate became a deal on the internet. Now that the streamer is back and revealing why the mental reset was necessary, she finally has her opinion on Andrew Tate which was explained during the podcast.
When Pokimane was asked about what she thinks about Andrew Tate, she stated that the gods did her a favor when Andrew Tate became popular, she went on a break and when she became, the controversial internet personality was already banned from social media giants. Later, she was quoted saying-
“To me, it just really made me sad because I thought as internet users, we had moved past from this sort of talk, this sort of misogyny, this sort of rhetoric and to see it comeback and rise up in such a massive manner, I guess it was surprising and kind of sad to see.”
She also revealed that she has not seen much of Tate’s content and only knows about him through the reactions of people but she believes that something must be there in Tate’s speeches that resonates with the people or provides them value in the disguise of a life advice but she also fears that Tate takes it too far.
After coming back to her stream sessions, Pokimane also revealed about a male peer who accused her of seeking validation from men. The 24-year-old streamer seemed quite furious over the former friend but she did not reveal who it was.
