PUBG Mobile cheat makers made to pay $10 million after losing Krafton’s lawsuit

The developers of the world famous battle royale title, PUBG Mobile had recently filed a lawsuit against a group of members who were accused of developing cheating tools for the players. Krafton had emerged victorious in the lawsuit and it has been informed that the cheat creators of the game will have to pay $10 million as a compensation.

PUBG Mobile has time and again been criticised for being a game of hackers despite the efforts given by the developers. From publishing ban reports to strengthening their anti-cheat system, the developers have not left no stone unturned to provide a free and fair gameplay to its legitimate users. It had also introduced the Device Ban feature, which players felt was very much required in the game. Following this feature, the developers had filed a lawsuit against the cheat makers as a crucial step towards the banning of hackers.

Krafton files lawsuit against PUBG Mobile cheat makers

Several players have been manipulating different matches in PUBG Mobile and turning the situation into their favour after using certain illegal files. Taking a strict action against the people who are engaged in promoting such hacks, Krafton and Tencent Games had filed a petition and federal courts in both US and Germany announced their decision in favour of the two companies.

As a consequence, the group of PUBG Mobile cheat makers have been ordered to pay $10 million as a fine for the damages caused. The company has informed the players that this amount will be used to strengthen the anti cheat system and bring advanced technology to eliminate hackers completely from the game. The group has also been asked to provide details as to how they were able to exploit the game using their files.

Following their victory at the lawsuit, Tencent Games Producer of PUBG Mobile, Rick Li announced in a statement, “Millions of players worldwide enjoy PUBG Mobile and we will ensure a level playing field for everyone. Sadly, the actions of hacker groups undermine the fairness of the game. These judgements send a clear message that we will not tolerate cheating in PUBG Mobile.”

Tencent and Krafton’s victory in this lawsuit comes after Activision’s lawsuit against the members who were accused of developing cheats for Call of Duty Warzone. Such a move has been welcomed by the players as the developers are trying to eradicate the root cause of using hacks in the game.

This decision has also sent a warning message to cheat creators of other games. It can be expected that a famous battle royale game such as PUBG Mobile where hacking had become a troublesome issue will finally be able to provide a fair and legitimate gaming atmosphere to all of its players.
