Rockstar Games acquire Cfx.re, the team behind the famous GTA roleplay mod
This is a huge deal for gamers considering their love for the roleplay mods!
Every diehard fan of GTA V has, at least once in their lives, played the GTA V roleplay mod. Furthermore, this mod has been famous all around the globe for not just players but streamers as well. Many famous streamers like Kai Cenat & xQc have gained a part of their popularity from streams showcasing the GTA V roleplay mod. Moreover, a piece of good news for fans & gamers, Rockstar Game has acquired the creator team behind the mod, Cfx.re!
GTA roleplay mod, FiveM, is a popular modification for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. It allows players to create and play out their own stories in a realistic and immersive environment. Players can choose to be anything they want. Players can become police officers or criminals and interact with other players in a variety of ways. Furthermore, even the Red Dead Redemption mod, RedM, is quite popular and offers the same specs as FiveM.
Many gaming companies don’t usually support game mods, like Activision, so Rockstar Games acquiring the team is a huge deal for gamers. This has given many anticipating gamers a hint about some new stuff they can expect in GTA 6!

Rockstar Games acquire Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM & RedM
Rockstar Games said on Friday that it had bought Cfx.re, the team behind the well-known mods FiveM for Grand Theft Auto 5 and RedM for Red Dead Redemption 2, which enable unique multiplayer and substantial role-playing experiences in those games. Moreover, this is a huge takeover from Rockstar Games, considering how many players love the RP servers for both RDR @ & GTA V!
Rockstar Games said in a Rockstar Newswire post,
“Over the past few years, we’ve watched with excitement as Rockstar’s creative community have found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly through the creation of dedicated roleplay servers. As a way to further support those efforts, we recently expanded our policy on mods to officially include those made by the roleplay creative community. We will help them find new ways to support this incredible community and improve the services they provide to their developers and players.”
The FiveM website said on Friday that more than 170,000 users were running the mod on private servers. This shows the huge strength in the numbers of these mods. So Rockstar acquiring such a team has hyped the player base. Moreover, since GTA 6 is on its way, fans are expecting to see some RP-type features in the Online mode of the game. Although right now, nothing as such is confirmed, Rockstar Games’s destined to pull off wonders with their newly acquired team.
