Star Wars Jedi: Survivor topped the sales chart for April in just 2 days after its release
The force is strong with this one!
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was declared the best-selling game for April 2023 in the US, even though it was released only two days before the sales counter for the month was closed. Even though Jedi Survivor received a lot of criticism in its early days due to performance issues and glitches, it’s no surprise that it sold like hotcakes. Released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC, it gained a lot of attention after an ad featuring Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) personally training Cameron Monaghan (Cal Kestice).
Jedi Survivor is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order. Its events are set five years after the conclusion of the Fallen Order game. In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal Kestice ventures out to different planets and faces off against dragons, monsters, and Sith Lords.
His primary objective is to gather the remnants of the Jedi, re-establish the Jedi Order, and thwart the Empire. Well, to find out whether he manages to accomplish his goal, you need to try the game out for yourselves.

The April sales count closed just two days after Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released, but it did not stop the EA Sports-developed game from becoming the top-selling game of the month in the US. Furthermore, it is also the fourth-best-selling game of 2023 so far. Dead Island 2 placed second on the sales chart for April. Moreover, the most noteworthy part is that seven out of the top 15 best-selling games are new releases.
Besides these 2 games, MLB: The Show 23, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Hogwarts Legacy, PGA Tour, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, FIFA 23, and Mario Kart 8 made the top 10 on the sales list.
Moreover, it was a great month for console sales. Circana reported that Sony’s PlayStation dominated the dollar market. However, in terms of per-unit sales, Nintendo’s Switch outshone its rivals. The Launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED certainly helped in its sales.
Consumers’ spending on Video game content, Hardware, and accessories reached $4.1 Billion. This is a 5% drop from 2022. However, the percentage of Hardware sales grew by 7%.
It’s safe to say April was a great month for new releases. Now that Sony has announced the PlayStation Showcase for 2023, we will see more and more leaks about new games and console news. Moreover, the release of SteamDeck’s rival, the Asus Rog Ally, generated buzz in the gaming world. It will be an interesting battle between the two to dominate the handheld PC market.
