Disguised Toast banned from Twitch while streaming “Death Note”
Disguised Toast gets banned from Twitch
It hasn’t even been a week since Imane “Pokimane” Anys, the first high profile Twitch streamer who was banned from the platform following the DMCA controversy that earlier today, another prominent streamer known famously as Disguised Toast was banned for the very same reason. The renowned streamer was seen streaming popular anime shows such as Naruto and Death Note without really caring for a potential ban. However, he hinted to his fans that he faced an account ban on Twitch earlier today from his Twitter handle. Disguised Toast had been streaming Death Note and what led to his suspension has been mentioned in this article.

What led to the ban of Disguised Toast from Twitch?
Jeremy Wang better known as the variety streamer ‘Disguised Toast’ is a Taiwanese-Canadian internet personality who after taking a break for two years from Twitch, made a return in the month of November, the previous year. Although, he is mainly known for streaming games such as Hearthstone, Disguised Toast recently joined the recent trend that had stormed Twitch i.e. the TV show meta.
Several streamers who had joined this trend were seen streaming copyright content such as anime shows and reality shows on their channel. While this act certainly helped the streamers to increase their viewer count exponentially, the risk of a ban due to DMCA claims was always lurking around the corner. Even though, no official statement has been provided regarding his account ban, it is most likely due to the DMCA violation. Another tweet from the streamer, informs us that the ban is going to last for a month which fans feel is a little harsh.
It is, however, important to note that this is not the first time that the streamer was seen streaming copyrighted content on his channel as he enjoyed his Naruto or Oturan which he calls it for a while now. He started with popular anime series, Death Note few days ago and the ban was handed down to him last night. The streamer, on the other hand, seemed pretty composed on his first Twitch ban as he said, “They couldn’t have waited 20 more minutes, huh” informing his fans that he wished to stream the complete episode.
What lies in store for other streamers?
When his fellow streamer, Pokimane was banned from Twitch, he informed everyone that he is going to take down all of content from the channel which were uploaded in the past two weeks. However, he continued to stream viewing that another well-known streamer, Felix “xQc” Lengyel was streaming the reality show, Master Chef for a very long time.
As two popular faces of Twitch were banned simultaneously, it is most likely that more bans will be handed down in the near future. Streamers such as xQc, HasAnbi and Mizkif were unhindered when Pokimane was banned but whether they will discontinue their copyrighted content streams after Toast’s ban will be intriguing to see.
