The 2023 Game Awards honor the best video games of the year. On December 7, 2023, the event will be broadcast live across the globe and hosted by Geoff Keighley, The Game Awards creator and producer. The audience will be present at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

One of the most anticipated categories at the awards is the Best Mobile Game of 2023. With tough competition every year, fans have their eyes on which game will win the Best Mobile Game Award.

It was announced that the Honkai Star Rail has beaten everyone in the race, to be the most popular mobile game in 2023.

Honkai: Star Rail Named 2023’s Best At The Game Awards

In Honkai: Star Rail, players assemble a roster of characters and lead a squad of four in a turn-based battle, emulating the gameplay of vintage Japanese role-playing games. On October 27, 2021, the first closed beta test was available.

It was released to the global public on April 26, 2023, for Windows and mobile platforms. Also, on October 11, 2023, the PlayStation 5 ports opened up.

Each character has an elemental affinity that influences their ability to deal damage to specific targets, a character class known as a “path” that defines their role in battle, a set of special skills utilized in combat, and different characteristics that determine their strength. Moreover, it also draws inspiration from gameplay from Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact.

Games like Final Fantasy VII, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Monster Hunter Now, and Terra Nil were the other four nominees in the category. Honkai: Star Rail had an impressive 20 million downloads all over, which is enough to highlight its popularity. 

The Game Awards are the perfect platform to recognize games and reveal some of the most anticipated upcoming games. Winning the Best Category Award is no less than a major achievement for the popularity of the game. Also, one can only imagine Honkai getting hyped up again after this important recognition.
