Kick has quickly established itself as one of the biggest rivals to Twitch, the longstanding leader in the streaming industry. In just a few months since its launch in early 2023, Kick has attracted top talent from Twitch. This includes Adin Ross, a popular Twitch streamer who signed the “biggest streaming deal ever” to join Kick. He did so after being permanently banned from Twitch.

One of the reasons for Kick’s success is its better revenue split, which offers more earnings to streamers than Twitch. This has been a major draw for many streamers who are looking to maximize their earnings. In addition, Kick has been offering lucrative deals to attract top talent, which has worked well in its favor.

However, Kick has not been without its share of controversies. Adin Ross, since joining the platform, has been at the center of numerous controversies. This included asking fans to perform dangerous acts for money and sharing sexually explicit content. Most recently, he made a “transphobic rant” during one of his streams, which caused outrage in the community.

In the stream, Adin went on a tangent, criticizing those who choose to go by different pronouns. After doing so, he claimed his own pronouns were “kill/them.” This sparked outrage from the community. Many criticized the popular streamer for his comments. Even Kick’s Twitter account addressed the issue and demanded an apology from Adin.

Trainwrecks, another popular streamer and one of the, was also furious with Adin’s comments and demanded an apology from him. “It’s a stupid, stupid thing he said, but I’m going to give him a chance to go live today to apologize,” Train said. “If it’s anything short than that, then action will have to be taken. You can’t say it was a joke; that’s like the worst thing you could say that’s a joke. But to say to kill/them is not a joke, in no way shape or form can you cop out and say it’s a joke.”

Eventually, Adin Ross did apologize for his comments. However, he caused further controversy by initially refusing to do so. “From the bottom of my heart, I would like to apologize for absolutely f*cking nothing,” Adin said in response to people asking for an apology.

Real sh*t though, you all know damn well that we live in a crazy f**king world in 2023. When I tell someone to do something, such as kill or threat, I’m going to slow the f**k down with that, because we do live in a crazy f**king world.” In his apology, he acknowledged that he would be more cautious with his words in the future. “I would never ever in any type of way want anyone to ever harm themselves or do something violent with something that I’ve said. So, I’m going to be cautious on that end.” He also clarified that he did not mean to harm anyone with his words and that he would take responsibility for his actions.

Despite the controversies surrounding Adin Ross and the platform, Kick continues to thrive as a platform. Its better revenue split and lucrative deals have been a major draw for many top streamers. It remains to be seen whether Kick can continue to grow and compete with Twitch in the long run. But for now, it is clear that the platform has made a significant impact in the streaming industry.
