Twitch makes 5 times more than Kai Cenat from his streams even after a 50-50 revenue split.
Kai Cenat
The recent ban of Kai Cenat on Twitch is a trending topic on the internet. People all over the internet want to know where Kai Cenat would be headed next or if Twitch gonna rethink banning one of their biggest streamers. It was recently brought to light that twitch made a huge profit off of Kai’s streams during the month of February when the streamer had his month long subathon.
Twitch reportedly made a whooping $10-$15 million dollars during Kai Cenat’s month long subathon, while Kai made just $2 million in comparison. The former Twitch superstar held a month-long subathon in February. It was during this stream that he broke the previous record of most subscribed streamer held by Ludwig to become the most subscribed streamer of all time. This meant Kai had over 300,000 people subscribed to this channel at the time of his subathon. Kai was recently banned on Twitch for violating its terms and conditions, or terms of service. The supposed violation in the Terms of Service was revealed to be “repeated explicit simulated sexual activity in GTA.”.
As Twitch regulation states, there is a 50-50 split on subscriptions, 55-45 on ads and 70/30 on bits (twitch currency) between the streamer and the organization respectively. According to this, the numbers that Twitch earned while Kai was streaming don’t add up as Kai only earned $2 million for the subathon compared to Twitch’s $10-$15 million. Twitch was already being criticized by fans on the premise of Kai’s sudden ban from the platform. The news of the earnings made by Twitch during Kai’s subathon has added fuel to the fire.
