Valkyrae reveals she has a rare condition
Rachel ‘Rae’ Hofstetter who is better known as Valkyrae among her Twitch and YouTube fans was recently found having a fun time roaming in the night market of Korean streets along with fellow streamer Yvonnie. However, their casual walk turned shocking for the fans as the 30-year-old streamer revealed that she was diagnosed with aphantasia, a rare condition.
The popular streamer recently went to Japan along with the members of Offline TV Network and had a gala time there as she constantly kept her fans updated regarding the activities she did while staying in the country.
Valkyrae explains her mental condition to Yvonnie
The Twitch sensation who received a breakthrough during the previous year with many female gamers taking up the limelight with their engaging content announced her contract with YouTube Gaming back in January this year. Ever since that, she has been able to accumulate close to 4 million subscribers in her channel.
While Valkyrae moved to YouTube, some of her OTV friends stayed with Twitch. One such streamer was ‘Yvonnie’ with whom she was recently seen in Korea. In one of their live streams, Yvonnie mentioned that she recently underwent an eye correction surgery, further asking the YouTuber about her eyesight to which she replied, “like… 18/25? My right eye is better than the other. I have a stronger eyeball, I have really good vision but I traded that with bad memory.”
When Yvonnie was perplexed to hear these things, the prominent female streamer revealed that she was suffering from ‘aphantasia’. ‘When I close my eyes, I can’t visualize things’, Valkyrae described a condition where people suffering from this condition are not able to imagine things in their mind leading them to be forgetful about places and people.
The co-owner of 100 Thieves had previously hinted at her condition about two years ago during a livestream where she complained that there are people who can imagine things. While fans were then confused regarding this statement, they are now flabbergasted to hear about the mental condition of their favorite streamer.
Valkyrae also stated further that this could be one of the reasons she is unable to draw anything as she lacks imagination in her mind. There is a kind of mixed response among fans who were totally unaware of this rare condition that the streamer is suffering from.
