Drama pops up all around the internet. And the dramas don’t always involve streamers. With the esports scene picking up traction all around the globe, most Pro-player related dramas keep popping up. Recently, Sentinels Sick made the news as authorities arrested him multiple times, and the team subsequently removed him from their roster. Moreover, another removal has hit the Valorant Pro-players community with NORTHEPTION’s TenTen being fired from his contract!

Kuzohiro Owa, CEO of NORTHEPTION, released this report on July 4th, explaining the reason behind the removal of the player. In their report, they mentioned the player’s demeanor towards another Asian player of color during a pug match. TenTen and Saibani ‘fl1pzjder’ Rahmad of Rex Regum Qeon went viral on Twitter after a video of their verbal fight. The removal happened afterward as a result of this video. TenTen yells “f**k India” to fl1pzjder, who is from Indonesia, after the two exchange a few words.

NORTHEPTION finished 10th during last year’s VCT Stage 2: Masters Copenhagen and is one of the rising esports org in Japan. NORTHEPTION signed TenTen around November 2022 for their Valorant roster. Furthermore, this is quite a loss for the Org as TenTen was one of the best players in Japan’s second-tier leagues. This shows how both NORTHEPTION and Riot Games have zero tolerance for racism and harsh comments, be it from famous personalities too.

The Valorant Japanese esports org took it to Twitter and reassured their fans that they have zero tolerance for racism & harsh comments. We sincerely apologize for any discomfort or concern this may have caused.”

Soon after TenTen was fired, he posted an apology on Twitter, asking fans for forgiveness. He said, “I sincerely apologize to those who were offended by my inappropriate remarks. As a professional player and as a person, I deeply regret that I made unforgivable remarks. I also take the punishment from the team very seriously. I’m so sorry.”

The Asian Valorant community has faced lots of racism issues for a while now. In another incident, NRG‘s Valorant account was hacked and used to send racist messages to Shahzam and possibly other players. These racism issues are persistent and increasing day by day. However, Riot Games is making sure to take harsh actions regarding it, which is much appreciated by the player base.
