FPX went on to win the match and move to the Upper Bracket Finals

Killjoy’s turret is an important tool for any team as it starts shooting at any enemy within its range and also notifies the enemy’s position to the team which had placed it. This is why the bug led to so much controversy at VCT, as it caused the turret to face the opposite direction, making XSET faulty comms for the round and leading to their loss.

The turret was placed by XSET AYRIN aimed towards A Short in the 24th round of the match’s third map, Ascent. XSET had planted the spike, and the round was almost in the books as being won by them. FPX players ANGE1 and Shao were trying to push through A Short and defuse the spike in an attempt to clutch the round for their team.

At this moment, after firing some shots at ANGE1, the turret bugged, and flipped towards Haven, making XSET believe there was an attempt from FPX to push back from that direction. This faulty intel led top FPX to get the better of XSET in the round, and eventually the whole match.

Despite the replay, FPX went on to win the match, eventually getting knocked out from Champions 2022 by DRX in a 2-0 sweep in the Lower Bracket’s Round 3. Valorant’s players were displeased by the decision to replay the round, as they claimed this behaviour was natural to the agent’s turret, either this was an incorrect decision or the game’s devs had ignored the bug till now.
