Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 is taking Fortnite back to the style of Fortnite Chapter 1. This has players reminiscing in nostalgia as the battle royale returns to old maps and weapons. In the same spirit, Epic Games has reintroduced a complete server downtime, similar to what players saw before the launch of Fortnite Chapter 1.
Epic Games are all done with the Halloween Fortnitemares event and the new season is coming up. Considering that there are huge map changes and gameplay changes coming in the season, the developers required extra time to launch the new season. This extended downtime allows the developers extra time needed to add new and larger features.

Downtime End for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5
The Fortnite downtime and subsequent update for v27.00 will take place on November 3, 2023. This is the last downtime for Chapter 4 Season 4. Players will be dropping straight into Chapter 4 Season 5 soon enough. The servers will go into downtime at 3 a.m. ET and the servers usually shut down half an hour before that.
Considering that this is a considerably huge update, the downtime can last even up to six hours, taking into consideration previous patterns. Hence, the downtime might last until 9 a.m. ET. Epic Games has been consistent with their server downtime for the past few seasons, so the downtime should not be longer than six hours.
If you are playing Battle Royale or Save the World mode when the servers shut down, you will be logged out. According to official information by Epic Games, the updated file size will also be considerably bigger than the previous ones. The end of the downtime will bring it with a new storyline and a return to the Metaverse.
The biggest change in the new season will be its return to Chapter 1. It will feature names and marked locations from the original storyline. The map, the loot pool, and battle pass functionality are also returning to the original. Another major return is the return of Battle stars that have not been in the game for a long while now. The developers have also merged fan-favourite characters to create remix outfits.
