Is xQc in the wrong for this?

It is common for the top 1% of any industry to always be criticized and judged for their actions. They are held to such high standards that people expect no mistakes and full accountability from them. We have seen this time and time again, and this time fellow streamer xQc has been hit out of nowhere.

A lot of streamers have built a successful algorithm behind reacting to content. It’s a fun way for viewers to see their favorite personalities react to the content they suggest. It isn’t for everyone, but those who build a fanbase around it, have done it in quite an applaudable way.

xQc RESPONDS to viewers claiming he ‘steals’ content for his videos

xQc is well known for his wild and flabbergasted reactions. He is the master of viral clips and has built a trusted and encouraging fanbase around reacting to content. Like many streamers and YouTubers, xQc lets his viewers send content through discord servers so he can react to them. Seemingly, it is supposedly done in favor of the fans and not the streamer.

Unfortunately, that’s not how many people see it. Recently xQc has been going viral for being blamed for ‘stealing’ content from small creators. They claim he makes a living out of the hard work that creators go through by simply reviewing content, and not even acknowledging the creators for it. It all began after xQc reacted to a video by a creator called Lemmino.

Following this reaction, a Twitter user, ‘FilmsBub’ took to Twitter and said Lemmino spends months researching, scripting, and editing a video just for react streamers to reupload the entire thing and provide zero input”. This garnered a lot of likes and reshares and captured the attention of xQc. During his stream, xQc reacted to it and said, “I paused like c*azy, I added a lot of commentary… the chat was getting mad at me”. He claimed a lot of people second-watch content like his when doing other things like playing video games.

“Yes, a lot of [reaction streams] is just watching it because that’s what chat wants, “If I commentate too much, chat gets f***ing bored… chat gets mad.” He then claims that he talks more depending on the video and situation, claiming he “knows what the chat wants”. xQc seemed genuine in his response, and a lot of fans picked up on this to stick up for him. He ends off by saying, “the money is so little on that, I don’t give a s***”. A fair point for someone who recently signed a $100 million contract.

YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamers calls xQc’s content ‘garbage’ and xQc fires back!

Later, YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamers retweeted and quoted saying “Just a shame garbage like this fills the recommended tab.” xQc was quick to reply saying “I wonder what triggers people like you so much. Revenue share? Audience split, algorithm? I’ve heard this complaint a million times and most “public figures” try to attack it from multiple angles, just to fall flat on their face. I’m watching a vid I like to my people. That’s it.”

xQc even replied to a tweet from a user who suggested the creator, who xQc reacts to should get 50/50 or even more of the revenue he makes from the video, saying “They can claim the whole fucking thing and they do a lot of times. I swear you guys just make shit up for the hell of it.”

Many fans took his remarkable response lightly. A user said in response, “Wait if they can claim the revenue, then where is the issue? The lemming video was so fucking good with high production quality if I hadn’t watched it from you I wouldn’t have discovered them”.

On the contrary, many took this opportunity to hate the popular streamer. One user even commented as far as saying “Imagine if YouTube videos didn’t exist, bro would be living in the streets”. The internet seems to be divided as xQc is on the ropes for this one. Although many other notable streamers like IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat follow a similar algorithm at times, their names are nowhere to be mentioned.

Nonetheless, xQc seems to be handling the situation very well. He has defended himself and said what he had to. All this is followed just after he revealed his brand-new $500,000 Audemars Piguet Royal-Oak watch.
