YouTube restores The Sidemen Charity Match 2023 after being taken due to a copyright strike from FA Premier League for using West Ham’s stadium
Premier League FA copyright strikes the Sidemen and gets their video removed!
After successfully raising over 3 million dollars, the Sidemen Charity Match 2023 seems to have been a success. However, earlier today, fans noticed that the YouTube stream for the charity match on The Sidemen’s channel had been taken down. This had raised speculations as to what went wrong and how this all came about. This action was taken as a result of the FA Premier League copyright striking the video
The thriller football match showcased pure entertainment. The unpredictable performances from clueless American streamers like JiDion, Kai Cenat and xQc trying their best to fit in. The unmatched friendly rivalries between IShowSpeed and his opponents including KSI, all the way to the world-class goals from Miniminter, the exciting game ended 8-5 to Sidemen FC.
However, the very anticipated and successful show had an outback a week after it commenced. It turned out the arena at which the match took place, London Arena, was not allowed to be filmed without permission. The stadium where Premier League team, West Ham, plays, issued the copyrightstrike with Sidemen streaming the arena for free on YouTube.
YouTube takes down the Sidemen Charity match stream and later restores it
After The Premier League issued the copyright strike on the Sidemen streaming for using the West Ham stadium, YouTube went ahead and disabled the video with a message that read “This video contains content from FA Premier League, who has blocked it on copyright grounds”. Fans were left in shock at the surprising issue that came out of nowhere!
The video which racked up over a staggering 22 million views in just over a week, was now unavailable to watch. Video was unavailable on the platform for more than 8 hours. KSI who played for The Sidemen FC also reacted to this abrupt news and said, “Lmao how is this even possible?!?!”.However, later YouTube restored the video and fans were allowed to watch the stream again.
Fans speculate that it was a mistake from the Premier League side. The Sidemen Charity match has taken place in other FA-registered stadiums and never faced this issue. However, this year this was not the case. But thanks to YouTube for acting quickly and resolving the issue, the stream is back fans can again enjoy iconic moments from the game.
