YouTuber Shelby Shubble releases statement against Minecraft streamer Wilbur Soot alleging him of physical abuse

Twitch streamer Shelby Shubble on her latest stream talked about something very serious. The streamer revealed that in her past relationship with singer and Minecraft streamer Wilbur Soot, she had been physically abused. Furthermore, she had not revealed Wilbur’s name and just referred to him as her ex-boyfriend who ‘bit her’.

However, Wilbur Soot decided to speak up and apologize to Shelby via X. Shelby in her stream, had talked about how Wilbur used to bite her arms to the point where they got bruised. Furthermore, she added that at one point both her arms were covered in bruises. She further revealed that Wilbur would think of the situation as funny and even show it to her friends.

“His biting escalated to a point where I was covered in bruises all over my arms. And they hurt, and he would poke at them for fun. And he even felt so comfortable showing off my bruises that he had caused to our friends because he would bite me so hard by accident. ‘By accident’.”

Shelby furthermore revealed that it got to the point where they had established a safe word and she had to use it every time he bit her. Furthermore, after he realized that the conditions of her arms were concerning. So, instead of stopping he started biting her legs so the bruises would be easier to hide. Moreover, it is not the first time a streamer has spoken out about being abused as Amouranth was going through the same.

“He would even joke that it looked like he abused me. Um, and eventually he did acknowledge how bad it looked that I was covered in bruises all the time. So, he stopped biting my arms as often and he started biting my legs instead”

In a statement released by Wilbur on his X, he addressed the physical abuse allegations made by Shelby against him. He claimed to have understood the amount of pain he had caused to Shelby. Furthermore, he added that he was learning from his past mistakes and improving. Moreover, he also did not mention Shelby’s name and referred to her as his ex-girlfriend.

“These actions caused a lot of pain to my ex-girlfriend and I’ve since sought therapy to address these behaviors, making significant lifestyle changes to rectify my past actions.”I have come to realize how much my past behavior hurt this person, but I truly, compassionately believe I have made great strides from the person I once was and hope I can continue to grow and improve on this trajectory.”

In his statement, he claimed the instances of being labelled as physical abuse deeply shocked him despite acknowledging that Shelby had told him about how it hurt her.

Furthermore, he claimed that to him it was all playful. He further added that he was open to acknowledging her concerns and the pain he had unknowingly caused to her. Shelby responded to Wilbur’s Apology and labelled it as extremely self-centred.

I’d like to address the apology. Quite frankly I’ve never seen an apology so self centered. It seems to purposely misconstrue the issue I very clearly laid out. My issue was not with being bit. It was with being HURT.

And to vaguely apologize for “any hurt” while knowing we needed a safe word because I was being hurt so often by accident, and I continued to be hurt daily, is incredibly disrespectful. But not more disrespectful than not even saying my name. I believe I am referred to as “ex girlfriend” so if you don’t know who he’s talking about, you might not find out what he did. This is not how you take accountability.

Shelby explained that she had a problem with being hurt not being bit. She further added that Wilbur claiming to have DMs where she claimed to enjoy being hurt was not true. Furthermore, she added that he had told her that ‘he would try to stop hurting her’.

Moreover, everyone sided with Shelby and Wilbur ended up losing 150,000 subscribers after she spoke out. People even compared the situation to James Charles losing a million subscribers in a day
