Amouranth has a message for Mark Zuckerberg

Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa, one of the most popular streamers under the ASMR category has brought forward her ‘businesswoman’ side again, but this time fans saw her hitting out at Mark Zuckerberg instead of her usual conversations about investments or business ideas.

The American glamour model started a long Twitter thread describing about the drawbacks of social media giants, Instagram and Facebook which are owned by Mark Zuckerberg. She began her tweet by saying that this might be an unpopular opinion but she believes that, “Instagram+ Facebook in their puritanical zeal to eliminate/down rate  “low quality content” that appeals to our lizard brains… didn’t actually realize their Desired outcome.”

She continued to say that in her opinion, Zuckerberg might have believed that the platforms can get more brand friendly engagement if he is able to retain the daily usage of the platform but the content that is available right now is actually ‘junk’. She compared the current content of the platforms to ‘junk’ food.

The 28-year-old American cosplayer has highlighted how good quality content is not being valued as people are getting more addicted towards meaningless but entertaining content. This has naturally affected streamers and content creators who struggle to make content that actually holds some meaning.

She explained that an increased daily usage of the social media giants such as Instagram and Facebook is actually through increased dopamine levels in our brains. Her tweet read as-

"The truth is whether it’s  “junk food” or “junk content” the “junk” part of it —the cheap thrills that release dopamine inspire the feedback loop created by anything that causes the brain to release dopamine…  that’s how you get increasing usage times and addictive behavior."

Concluding her trail of thoughts, she exclaimed that a good content is much less trafficked nowadays as it fades away slowly in the platform due to increased daily usage. At the end, Amouranth posted a GIF stating that it’s just a theory she came up with.

Fans react to Amouranth’s call out

Several fans were unable to understand what the streamer meant by such thoughts but some Twitter users were quick to decode what the cosplayer was trying to claim. When one of the users wrote that good content is not enough to keep people on the platform compared to the brain-rotting content, she responded that, “It’s a noble undertaking in a vacuum, but Facebook underestimated how entrenched and “irreplaceable” they were.”
