Blizzard Entertainment came up with Overwatch 2 in October 2022. The transition, though big, was not easy. Players had to go from playing 2016 Overwatch to the new edition. This called for new changes to retain the players while adding a new fan following for OW2. The game had to be a lot better than its predecessor. Overwatch was quite intense and engaging. And Blizzard came out with a shockingly good game.

The company added a lot more features to lure new players into the game. This included adding endorsements for better performance in matches. Besides new heroes and additional mini-maps,. Endorsements in Overwatch 2 are easier and simpler than their predecessors.

What are endorsements in Overwatch 2?

Endorsements are generally expressions of appreciation for players who played nice games and contributed to the victory or efforts for the team. This could be anything between acting a great supportive teammate to clutching the enemy team. If the player does either of the above, his teammates are at liberty to shower him with appreciative notes at the end of the game and give him rewards. This is how Overwatch 2 made their game quite welcoming and this adds to the peace of the players. When players receive appreciation from their team, it goes a long way toward helping the franchise flourish even further.

How do endorsements work?

It’s very easy. Overwatch 2 added a simpler way of granting endorsements in the game than its predecessor. In 2016, you had to go through 3 different types of rewards to choose for your teammates. While this was a bit of work, players would not cater to doing the extra-mile run for it. But this was simplified in Overwatch 2. Now you can reward your teammates XP up to 5 units. And depending on their game, it gives them an extra boost to play more hours. This is an absolute win for the game and the players. You can reward up to 5XP points to your teammate. The awarded endorsements are visible to new matchmaking after encountering new players in the lobby. This will depict the player’s integrity and likeability in the game. This adds to confidence and better team co-operation.

While it is a great feature for creating a welcoming environment for new players and comforting. The game has resorted to certain guidelines for the same so as not to be used for unnecessary endorsement. Here are a few things to keep in mind when using endorsements.

  • You can only reward an endorsement for the same player once every 12 hours.
  • While playing one can only endorse your teammates and not more than 2 of them.
  • One cannot allot endorsement to your already set friend list and no repetition of rewards.
  • Players cannot endorse their teammates in consecutive matches.
  • Endorsing enemy teammates is not allowed or possible

Endorsements can be a great feature in Overwatch 2, but there are certain rules and regulations players must abide by while using the feature in the game.
