Why Epic Games disabled ranked modes in Fortnite?

Fortnite

Fortnite rolled out its ranked version in May, and it was an update of 24.40. Fortnite went on to revise this update with 25.10, and it was released alongside Fortnite ranked zero and the Death of Trios. Epic Games is known to have an efficient, dedicated team to work out the logistics of servers and systems running into glitches and bugs. And now Epic Games is getting a run for their money since Fortnite ranked season zero ran into crashing issues and was eventually disabled.

This called for immediate assistance from Fortnite Status, the official Twitter handler, which broke the news and announced the lingering issue at hand. In their statement, Fortnite Status said, “We’ve temporarily disabled Ranked Battle Royale and Ranked Zero Build while we investigate a crashing issue.” It tweeted just hours after the Fortnite downtime had ended and update 25.10 had been deployed, “We’ll provide an update when Ranked is available again. Thank you for your patience.”

A few hours after the incident, Epic Games rolled out an update for Fortnite Ranked Season Zero. However, this acted as fuel for the already-going frenzy. Because players could not log in and Fortnite Ranked was again disabled. With update 25.10, the problems seem to only persist for an unknown amount of time. There has been no official statement by Epic Games about how long it would take to get Fortnite Ranked back online in its full glory.

This, however, did not stop users from complaining about other issues as well. With some of the players complaining about the issue of crashes.

Some of the players have even asked to get the Fortnite Arena back. And dissatisfied with the new Ranked play that is not going well with some fans as well. With a few asking to add Siphon back into Fortnite.

And if that wasn’t enough, players have gotten more dramatic and poetic, trying to raise their concerns in the best way possible.

Millions of players play Fortnite every day. With a player pool that’s huge and spending hours playing games. It’s necessary to keep the game operational at all times. But running into problems attracts a lot of backlash and a loss of playtime. It wouldn’t be until Epic Games releases any official statement regarding the same. Until then, hold on to new updates about the crashing issue.
