The WWE Universe has been highly thrilled ever since The Rock made his return to WWE at the inaugural episode of Raw on Netflix. It appears that he is back for a longer duration than his Bad Blood appearance. The 52-year-old recently appeared on NXT: New Year’s Evil, where he spanked Ethan Page in a backstage segment.
Ethan Page uploaded a video on his X account where he offered his thoughts on his segment with the Brahma Bull. Page said that Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Nick Khan were not huge fans of him. However, the Final Boss understood what he was all about. The Rock even complimented the former NXT Champion for his backside.
The segment in question featured Ava Raine chastising the former AEW star for injuring Je’Von Evans. The Great One showed up and asserted that the NXT GM was The Final Boss of the developmental brand. However, he made it clear that he saw something in Page and talked about him appearing on the main roster soon.

The People’s Champion also cut a promo during this episode. He made his way to the ring towards the end of the show. The Great One said a lot of sentences with swear words, most of which were censored on TV. He talked about giving Cody Rhodes his flowers and praised him. Furthermore, he also showed massive appreciation for the NXT talent who were working their hardest to make a career in sports entertainment.
The Rock’s NXT appearance breaks a massive WWE record
There is no doubt that The Rock is one of the biggest draws in professional wrestling of all time. Today, he’s one of the biggest mainstream celebrities on the planet and undoubtedly brings a lot of eyes to the product. He had announced that he would make an appearance at NXT: New Year’s Evil, which had people glued to their TV screens.
Tuesday’s special episode of the developmental brand garnered 957,000 viewers due to the Hollywood superstar. This is the highest viewership NXT has seen in over five years since September 2019. For reference, last week’s show pulled 626,000 viewers.

The Final Boss himself also has a personal agenda in wanting to see WWE prosper. Last year, the 52-year-old joined the TKO Board of Directors and is allegedly a huge authority figure backstage. Furthermore, he recently bought another significant portion of stock within the company, amounting to $13 million.
