It has been more of a equally matched contest between Ukraine and Sweden, with the match constantly swinging from one end to the end, and both teams denying to yield each other even an inch of grass, latching onto anything loose. Ukraine though have looked a bit better than counter parts Sweden, having a better share of the possession and creating more clear cut chances.

Forsberg and Zinchenko scores one each for either side to keep the game level at 1-1

Zinchenko opens the scoring for Ukraine

Ukraine were the first to open the scoring in the 27th minute, when Oleksander Zinchenko powers a volley to the far post.

Andriy Yarmolenko received a ball on the right wing and curled it to the far post, where the overlapping left back Zinchenko meets it sweetly, powering his volley to the other end of the goal. Olsen could only manage a touch but not enough as Ukraine goes in the lead.

Forsberg puts Sweden on level terms

However, Sweden made it level with two minutes to go into the half time. It is Emil Forsberg again for Sweden, scoring his fourth in four games in this year’s European Championships.

Forsberg picked the ball quite some distance from the box and went striding in, firing a shot to the bottom left corner of the Ukraine goal. It’s takes a considerable deflection from Zabarnyi on its way, which is enough to take it past a diving Buschnan, would could only watch as the ball went it.
