“Everything is not beautiful right now” – Andy Reid talks about KC’s form this season

Kansas City Chiefs had a fortunate escape in a closely-contested encounter against the New York Giants as they secured their fourth victory of the season that currently levelled them with their defeats and their gaffer, Andy Reid was definitely not happy with the outcome. He acknowledged the fact that times aren’t really good for the Chiefs at the moment but they were happy to walk away with a victory.

The Chiefs were the representatives of the AFC in the Super Bowl but their performance in the ongoing season has been anything but special. After a close victory against the lackluster Giants, Andy Reid was heard saying to the reporters, “Everything is not beautiful right now. But we’re fighting through that. That happens in this game.”

Andy Reid spoke in details about the Kansas City Chiefs’ struggle at the moment

The Chiefs have been ailing in the bottom third of the league table with an average of 26 points per game but much to their woes, the turnovers at the other end have been exorbitantly high. Their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been able to reach his fullest potential as he has been picked off a staggering 10 times in the current season. The latest came at the hands of Julian Love on Monday night against the Giants.

Reid was heard quoting, “There’s great competition in this league, which I think you know. You saw those games yesterday and teams that were supposed to win by X number of points get beat. There’s so much parity in this league and so you’ve got to fight.”

He continued, “That’s the part I’m taking out of this game. Our guys battled. They didn’t give up on each other. They kept working through what could have been a time where you just throw your hands up and things aren’t working the way they’re supposed to work. Guys didn’t do that. So we’ll build on that. Let’s keep going. They don’t give these things away and I think that’s important for everybody to understand. The other teams are coming after you and you’re going to get their best shot and I thought they did a heck of a job with it.

With all said and done about Mahomes, it was the quarterback’s relentless field drives in the final quarter to propel the Chiefs to victory after the Giants got their nose ahead, thanks to Evan Ingram who grabbed a touchdown from Daniel Jones. Reid concluded by saying, “All in all a good hard-fought win. One that was needed.”
